Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, Bryan ISD will be using the Stopfinder app for students who utilize Bryan ISD transportation to and from school. The app allows parents and guardians to track their child’s school bus in real-time.

The app is secured and protected and also serves as a two-way communication tool, allowing parents to quickly and easily communicate with district transportation officials and receive real-time notifications. Notifications can be focused on specific users based on their child’s bus route. For example, if a road is closed, causing a bus to be late picking up or dropping off children, only parents and guardians of students on those specific routes will be notified.

The Bryan ISD Transportation Department will send invites in August to family members of students who ride the bus to and from school.

The app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store.

Bryan ISD Announces New Stopfinder Transportation App

Bryan ISD is excited to announce a new app for families who have children being transported to and from school by Bryan ISD buses.

Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, we will be using the Stopfinder app. The app allows parents and families to track their child’s school bus in real-time.

“We are pleased to announce this new tool for our families,” said Lori Sears, Bryan ISD Transportation Director. “This tool will help the transportation office become even more efficient and responsive because Stopfinder will answer that most important question parents have:

‘Where is my child’s school bus?’”

Stopfinder, which was created by the company Transfinder that operates the district’s routing software, is free to parents and guardians and allows users to customize when they receive alerts about their children’s bus location.

The app is also a two-way communication tool, allowing parents to easily and quickly communicate with district transportation officials and receive real-time notifications. Stopfinder works seamlessly with the district’s Routefinder Plus routing system, so district transportation leaders can focus communications to specific regions or routes with relevant information. For example, if a road is closed, causing a bus to be late picking up or dropping off children, only parents and guardians of students on those specific routes affected by the road closure will be notified.

Sears said she hopes the ability to conduct two-way communication with parents will strengthen the ties between the district’s transportation department and the community.

The Bryan ISD Transportation Department will send invites in August to family members of students who ride the bus to and from school. The app is also secure and protected.

The app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.
