Rudder High School Principal Rachel Layton’s entire 22-year educational career has been in Bryan ISD! She returned to the high school to become its principal in the 20-21 school year after being one of the teachers who helped open the school in 2007.

Bryan ISD is in Layton's blood. Before moving back to Rudder, she was the principal at Stephen F. Austin Middle School for three years. She was a teacher/coach at Bryan High School and Rayburn when it was a middle school, a district-wide high school social studies specialist, and an assistant and associate principal at Rudder.

Welcome to Rudder High School.  As a Rudder Ranger we are Positive, Prepared and Productive.  At Rudder we strive to build a positive culture that leads to excellence both inside and outside the classroom.  I look forward to partnering with students, staff, parents and the Rudder community to create an environment where all students can learn and succeed.  We strive to lay the foundation so our students can be College and Career Ready after graduating from Rudder High School.  As always, Rangers Lead the Way!
