CAPT SUSAN BALLARD

I studied Math and Computer Science at Temple University earning a B.A. in Mathematics. Upon graduation, I joined the United States Navy and served as a commissioned officer for 12 plus years. During that time I earned a Master's degree in applied mathematics/war gaming with a focus on logistics from the Naval Postgraduate School. Subsequent to the tragic event of 911 and to help fight the war on terror, I transferred to the United States Air Force where I served another 12 plus years ensuring joint logistics readiness during combat deployments. Upon retiring from military service in 2017 as a decorated combat vet, I chose a second battle field fighting ignorance and the inequities in education with a career in teaching math and science to children and young adults. I believe in the basics of education which includes hard work, discipline and a lifelong pursuit of knowledge.
